A NEWLY launched photography project celebrating Britain’s love of dogs has re-arranged its first-ever shoot after being inundated with applications.
Dogs of Great Britain, created by acclaimed photographer Gerry Slade, will now hold a session at Arley Hall, Cheshire, famous as the home of Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders, on Wednesday, July 22, from 5pm. The shoot had been due to take place in April but was moved to a date where a longer time slot was available.
The project, which combines fine art dog portraiture with iconic British locations, saw
demand exceed all expectations within days of its launch.

Mr Slade said: "We’ve had an incredible response. People don’t just love their dogs, they
want to celebrate them properly. Expanding the shoot means we can give more owners that opportunity.
"Dogs are at the heart of British life. This project is about more than photography - it’s about celebrating the personality, loyalty, and joy that dogs bring into our lives while supporting two amazing charities.
"Launching at such an iconic location allows us to set the tone for something truly special."
Dogs of Great Britain is a nationwide portrait project dedicated to capturing the
unique character and beauty of dogs set against an iconic backdrop.
Combining fine art photography with storytelling, the project aims to create a lasting visual tribute to Britain’s most beloved companions while supporting two charities: Hero Paws, which supports the welfare of retired service dogs, and The National Children's Air Ambulance.
The project will travel to a curated selection of prestigious venues across the UK, with each location carefully chosen to complement the visual storytelling and provide a unique experience for both dogs and their owners.
Despite the increase in capacity, only a limited number of places remain for the Arley Hall shoot, which offers dog owners a rare chance to have their pets photographed at one of the UK’s most recognisable stately homes.
While there is no fixed fee to take part, a donation of £50 is suggested. Applications may be made at www.dogsofgreatbritain.co.uk/contact
